Mr. Bailey is a mechanical engineer and assists the automotive research and accident reconstruction team. He has over 10 years of technical experience serving as a mechanical engineer and engineering manager for the U.S. Air Force. Prior to joining ESi, Mr. Bailey was the director of operations for a $35 million applied mechanics research laboratory focused on providing sustainment solutions for aging aircraft, as well as engineering education for undergraduate students.
As a professor of mechanical engineering at the United States Air Force Academy, Mr. Bailey taught courses in machine design, manufacturing, product design, automotive engineering, drafting, computer-aided design and engineering, statics, dynamics, strength of materials, and experimentation. His additional skills as an amateur race car driver and high-performance driving instructor facilitated his leadership of numerous automotive research projects and supervision of vehicle-related student engineering teams. Mr. Bailey’s expertise encompasses machine design, manufacturing technologies, and automotive systems analysis.
Two vehicles collided at an intersection, causing one vehicle to flip onto its side. The front passenger was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained serious spinal cord injuries. ESi used HVE software to create simulations of the crash sequence, and imported the vehicle motion output into MADYMO to model both “belted” and “unbelted” occupant responses inside the vehicle.
ESi's expertise spans dozens of industries and specializations organized across several practice groups, each staffed by dozens of in-house experts with the technical knowledge, hands-on expertise, and courtroom experience required to execute projects for and with our clients from start to finish.Contact Us
