John R. Bergeleen, P.E., S.E.

John joins us as a Senior Staff Consultant in our Irvine office, and will be working remotely based out of Albuquerque, NM. He has over 10 years of experience in structural engineering with an emphasis on damage assessment, repair design, and field work. He is a licensed Structural Engineer in Washington State. He will be working with the Irvine office and Civil Practice Group to build a consulting practice in New Mexico and the Southwest geographic area, as well as supporting projects in California and throughout the company.

Before coming to ESi and moving to Albuquerque, John graduated from Washington State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and worked with Coffman Engineers in their Spokane, WA office. John has a diverse background including new construction, retrofits, construction aids, damage assessments, and repair design in the healthcare, military, and industrial sectors, including work in high seismic and mountainous snow conditions. Prior to entering the engineering field, John worked jobs in construction and facility maintenance, giving him valuable insight into practical construction techniques and common defects.
