Mr. Departhy's professional experience includes forensic evaluations of mechanical and electrical systems which have failed or were subject to fire. He has designed HVAC and thermal/fluid piping systems for nuclear power plants and was a site engineering supervisor during the construction of two nuclear plants in the state of Georgia. He has worked as an estimator and project manager for a mechanical contractor responsible for the installation of mechanical and plumbing systems for projects ranging from light commercial to light industrial. Mr. Departhy also has experience in the design of residential and commercial developments and has produced Civil/Site plans and designed sanitary and storm sewer systems using computer aided design programs. During college, he worked on the design of a refrigerator; machined his own parts for a small-scale compressed-air powered engine; and built the control circuitry for a remote-control vehicle. For his senior project, he created a proforma tool to determine the economic feasibility of converting the fuel source of industrial boilers from a fossil fuel source to biomass gas. Earlier, he performed garage door installations and repair and was a plumber’s assistant who aided with the installation of hydronic heating systems, sanitary sewer piping systems within buildings, and other general plumbing work.
