ESi conducts comprehensive odorant analysis using purpose-built instrumentation calibrated to sulfur-specific parameters and aligned with ASTM D6228 standards, providing accurate, defensible results for fire, explosion, and pipeline investigations.

Our full-service forensic chemistry labs extend beyond standard odorant testing when investigations require deeper analysis. Analytical chemistry experts apply gas chromatography with pulsed flame photometric detection (GC-PFPD), gas chromatography with mass spectrometry (GC-MS), corrosion evaluation, and microscopic analysis to characterize fuel composition, assess odorant degradation, and model gas migration and vapor cloud behavior.

ESi supports clients from initial field collection through final reporting. On-site sampling services, compliant sampling kits, and shipping assistance for dangerous goods reduce logistical burden and protect sample integrity. Samples can also be dropped off at select ESi offices across the country.
