ATLANTA, GA - JUN 12, 2017 - ESi today announces the acquisition of Hopkins Forensics Group, LLC, a transaction which brings critical electrical engineering expertise to ESi’s southeastern operations to meet growing demand in the area and complement our existing mechanical, materials, and civil/structural engineering practices. The transaction significantly strengthens ESi’s local service capabilities, increasing its electrical engineering expertise and providing clients in the area with more convenient access to ESi’s full range of multidisciplinary services.
“This acquisition underscores our commitment to our clients in the southeast,” said Tom Bajzek, Principal and Director of our Electrical Engineering practice. “Hopkins Forensics brings highly regarded electrical engineering expertise and a strong reputation in the region - one defined by professionalism, technical expertise and attention to detail. In addition, this acquisition provides us with an even broader and deeper pool of specialized electrical engineering skills we can tap for clients across our global footprint.”
As part of the acquisition, Perry Hopkins, former Principal of Hopkins Forensics Group, LLC joins ESi’s Atlanta office as a Senior Consultant. Mr. Hopkins brings decades of experience in electrical engineering, including product design and testing, regulatory compliance, failure analysis of electrical products, and reparability assessments. Perry also has specialized expertise evaluating industrial, commercial and consumer electrical equipment and systems that have been damaged by fire, lightning or severe storms.

Pratt, Principal and Director of our Fire and Explosions practice. “We have the experience needed to help clients conduct and manage investigations into electrical product or system failures, from the initial site inspections through expert courtroom presentations.
