Mr. Ronald Parrington specializes in the areas of materials testing, corrosion, welding, and failure analysis. His 30 years of experience includes managing technical staff and testing laboratories/departments, expert witness services, legal and forensic services, new product development and testing, developing and executing test programs, performing material assessments, providing technical assessments, solving materials problems, as well as performing failure analysis.
Prior to joining ESi, Mr. Parrington was President of IMR Test Labs, a material testing laboratory located in Lansing, New York. He was responsible for managing operations for commercial materials and product testing laboratories in the United States and Asia, as well as leading their expert services. Previous to that time, his experience includes managing and providing technical services at Dresser-Rand, Lockheed Martin, and General Electric Company.
Metal fragments were found in the milled bone used for spinal fusion surgeries. ESi’s in-depth metallurgical and design analysis cleared the OEM of breach of contract and anti-competitive practice lawsuits.
The results of ESi’s investigation were used to recommend and substantiate to the USAF Technical Airworthiness Authority (TAA) a return to pressurized flight without altitude restrictions.
Based on the results and findings of this multi-component failure analysis, the client was able to remedy the problems with the new machinery design by addressing the weld defect and successfully launch the new product line.
