Daniel M. Stange, M.S.


As a Technologist in the Illinois office of Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi), Mr. Stange is responsible for the management of the Metallographic Laboratory, Optics Laboratory, and Scanning Electron Microscopy/Polymer Laboratory. In addition to the laboratory equipment Mr. Stange manages, he is also sUAS certified, with over 70 logged flight hours, and terrestrial laser scanner certified.

Prior to joining ESi in 2016, he completed a Master’s education in Physics at Northern Illinois University (NIU). While there, he was actively engaged in teaching, material science research, and due to his astronomical experience, became NIU’s Observatory Manager. His excellence in teaching was honored by receiving the 2015 Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant award.

Since joining ESi, Mr. Stange has become an expert level operator of analytical equipment, specializing in data acquisition, analysis, interpretation, and presentation, from the microscopic to macroscopic levels. Due to his expertise in physics subject matter, Mr. Stange has been a successful Adjunct Physics Faculty member at a local community college.
