Ms. Ashley Giesa is a mechanical engineer whose specific areas of expertise include commercial and residential HVAC and plumbing systems, construction defects, indoor air quality, accident reconstruction, industrial hygiene, and safety and appliance failures. She utilizes her extensive knowledge of accident reconstruction to work with clients on a wide range of projects involving multiple-passenger vehicles, bicycles, motorcycles, and pedestrian-related accidents. Ms. Giesa uses her expertise in lighting studies, weather analyses, and roadway studies when working on such projects. Additionally, she is a trained user of Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) event data recorders, giving her the capability to extract and analyze EDR data from multiple types of modules.

As an expert in HVAC analyses, Ms. Giesa’s body of work includes investigations on both small and large scale systems. Examples of past project topics include steam, air, water, and refrigeration systems from residential furnaces to large commercial chiller plants.  As a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional, Ms. Giesa is skilled in analyzing building energy usage to baseline energy modeling as well as comparisons to local markets. Of particular note is her knowledge of whole home/building ventilation systems, including energy recovery ventilators. As an industrial hygienist, Ms. Giesa has worked on cases involving mold, smoke residues from fires, carbon monoxide, and volatile organic compounds.
