ESi Acquires MDE Forensic Engineering

May 2, 2016 - Engineering Systems Inc. announced today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire MDE Forensic Engineering and Laboratories (MDE), a multi‐disciplinary firm with a twenty‐year track record of providing industry leading forensic engineering and investigation services to clients across an international footprint.

“The MDE team brings highly complementary industry depth and expertise," says Michael Stevenson, President and CEO of ESi. “This transaction combines industry‐leading experience and specialized skills across multiple disciplines and geographies – underpinned by a strong client focus, and a reputation for operating at the highest degree of professional standards.”

Both ESi and MDE share a common vision of partnering with clients to help them solve real business and technical challenges. With locations in Washington and Oregon, the MDE acquisition facilitates ESi’s strategic geographic expansion, enabling more comprehensive and responsive services to their combined client base in the Pacific Northwest. MDE also brings a well‐established forensic laboratory, which includes substantial analytical chemistry offerings, a metallurgical lab, and a full range of inspection and testing capabilities.

This acquisition represents an important next step in our continuing strategy of adding key skills and capabilities to deliver comprehensive end‐to‐end services to our clients, with enhanced capabilities, expertise and ability to drive improved outcomes. The MDE team brings strong expertise in electrical, mechanical, civil, materials, aviation and fire and explosion investigation. MDE’s industrial hygiene discipline also adds new skill sets that can further augment our expanding practice in biomechanics and safety.
