A. Koray Tureyen, Ph.D., P.E.

Dr. Tureyen joined the Civil/Structural practice of ESi as a Senior Managing Consultant at the firm’s Aurora-IL branch in March of 2024. He brings a wealth of experience to ESi spanning over 22 years in academia and consulting at Purdue University and Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc.

Having investigated root causes of system and materials failures his entire career, Dr. Tureyen is intimately familiar with multi-disciplinary investigations for engineering failure analyses. As a result of this experience, he has a solid understanding of physical and mechanical behavior as well as deterioration mechanisms of most construction materials such as structural concrete, structural steel, masonry, wood, glass, fiber reinforced polymers, coatings, and roofing and waterproofing materials.

Dr. Tureyen has assessed the condition of, developed repair recommendations for, and designed repairs to commercial, industrial, educational structures and civil infrastructure including bridges, power plants and water and sewage systems throughout his career. These assignments were often originated after natural and man-made hazards such as earthquakes, strong winds, fire, explosions, fire, flooding events or accidents and operational failures.
